The USB, jack socket, CD or Bluetooth streaming. The CD slot can alao play MP3 CDs. Apple devices are also supported. There is also an AUX socket.

So the system creates a playlist from files on the USB.

I’m back. Thank you for the manual Marc. So regarding your questions/discussions:

On my old RD4 I was able to play music from USB from the hand rest or Bluetooth streaming or aux. I don’t know if the BT is integrated into RD4 N2 or in that box that you are mentioning.

And yes, before, when using BT streaming, the song name was shown. But the same is now.

One more thing that I was thinking. What if my little box from the hand rest was connected to the RD4 via the wires which are ok PART C of big connector?

If my box will not be possible to be used, then maybe I can use the grey connector from doner and a USB cable and create my own USB port.

I’m saying this because I have seen somewhere that part c is used for cd changer. And what I have seen on my BSI ECU activate/deactivate menu is that CD changer was present. Now I have turned it off.

And one additional question. Is this fine if the wires from part C which before were going into RD4, now are going into this RT6? Or can be a mistake?

And there is more...I have seen from vborovic that the guidance from navigation is shown also on the display from instrument cluster. How is this possible to be set?

I almost forget about the microphone. I am not heard during a BT conversation.

Ok Vlad, I'm going to have another look at the parts instead of the diagrams between your car and the donor RT6 car to compare. That might help to answer some of the questions.

Regarding the USB - no - I would not connect the wiring into part C of the Quad lock - RT6 has a dedicated port for USB at the rear and that is what needs to be used.
The Screen mapping in the dash display is changed to navigation display using the left hand scroll wheel. Usually scrolling this goes from Trip Computer 1, Trip Computer 2, Speed (Km/h Mph) in large digits, Nav (current road or next turn due info) or Blank. I may have the order wrong, but that's how you get the display. Of course, that is if the RT6 is set up up right and the BSI is configured correctly.

I'll have another look at these parts for a while and try to do some research. The RT6 is a telematics unit and handles some of the functions that your original car did using other modules and this is what we need to determine. Independent Telematic Unit, Nomad / Hands Free / Connecting / Multimedia Connecting Box / USB are all items that have to be resolved for things to work together - some may need disabling etc. The Microphone issue can be the result of the Hands Free Kit / Telematic Unit or the Connecting Box - so we have to try and figure it out.

On my car, the microphone is connected to the 'Services Module' that is connected to the SIM card module and handles the internal telephone calls and emergency services features, communicating via the NG4 - a completely different setup again, but does not utilise Bluetooth Streaming, just Bluetooth calls or the internal telephone - I cab choose which to use.

So I'll have a look this morning and get a few headache pills ready :-D

Dear Marc, again a lot of information from your side, thanks a lot. Regarding the wires from my car’s connector Part C, I have them already there because the big unit connector is still the same. So now I’m Part C there are some wires going in. This is what I am saying, perhaps these wires which now are plugged in on Part C have to be removed and linked with the dedicated usb grey connector from rt6.

I think you will need this to connect USB directly to the RT6.

I already have this USB port & AUX in the hand rest. My question would be......Where can I found the other side (Grey Connector)?

Ok, I've been looking at the RT6 donor and your system Vlad - this is a crude table for comparison:
I've marked the items that each has with green dots.

System comparison.PNG
You can see that the USB socket is identical on both.
The only real difference is that Vlad's car has 8, 16, 17, 18, 28 & 32.
8 6593 65 RADIO TELEPHONE MICROPHONE
16 6604 01 TEL INTERFACE UNIT SUPPORT
17 6579 RX INDEPENDENT TELEMATIC UNIT
18 6579 KT EMERGENCY CALL BATTERY
28 6574 TS TELEPHONE INTERFACE UNIT OR:
6574 TT
32 6574 RT USB SOCKET HARNESS

So the difference is the Telematic Unit. Also, I found another X7 with RT6, and this model DID have the Independent telematic unit!

Another interesting thing - NON of the RT6 cars specification cars have the Radio Telephone Microphone (part 40) - that seems like it only available with the Hands Free Telephone Kit - which neither of the RT6 Car specs have - but Vlad did have this unit on his car, so he has the microphone......

So the question is, if there is no microphone on either of the RT6 car parts, does the RT6 have a built in microphone / Bluetooth module???

This is very strange for me...Most of the modules that were used before I think now will be out of use. What I can see is that the USB Socket Harness is present on my car, so I have to find where is plugged in in the other side. So I have just to unplug it and plug it into RT6 (I think it has the same connector). Regarding the microphone, I don't think that RT6 has his own, on my car certainly not, probably it has a microphone linked somewhere. It's beyond my imagination what to do now, what to cancel, what to plug in/out...Also, part 5 on my car and 45 on the donner's one seems to be the same, but with different numbering.

So are you saying that the harness that you have is missing the connector at the head unit end?
I'm now wondering if this has been wired into the CD port on part C as in this link:

http://c4owners.org/print.php?plugin:faq.67

If that is the case Vlad, you would need to go back into Diagbox and enable CD Options I suspect.

On the diagrams - they show components that are available BUT NOT FITTED unless they are green - forget the rest they are not on both cars like (5 & 45). Only the parts I have listed in the table are actually fitted to both cars - this is PSA diagrams for you - they show everything on the picture side but only the parts fitted on the other side, so ignore everything that is not green.

Position 32 is green. So probably I have it and the grey connector is plugged in somewhere else. If not is exactly like you have mentioned, on fakra part C. I think I have to go back to Diagbox and activate cd changer, not player, in bsi or telematic...if this will still not work then I have to find the other side of the cable and take it from there, plugging it in rt6. This last is the most preferred by me.....

What I was going to suggest is if you enable the CD in Diagbox, then try and see if USB is available in RT6 Menu / try and see if it will read an MP3. I've sent you a PM regarding configuration.

Perfect I will try asap. Another new from my side: song names not shown when using BT streaming, scrolling the left scroll => no guidance seen on display from instrument cluster. Just trip 1, 2, speed and black.

It may well be the configuration files - there are a few areas that need checking.
