Not quite true. Some older models of VCI could be reflashed (not by a firmware update) they need a special EEPROM coding device and software.

This is different to the normal firmware that is automatically applied to the VCI during diagbox software upgrade or downgrade. The firmware is contained in the software and done automatically.

Unless you have taken your unit apart for examination, you can’t say for sure whether it has the 10k resistor and full set uf Octocouplers.

I will send you the PSA checker software link shortly, then you can print me a screen shot and I will be able to tell what revision you have.

Hei Marc! Good news, it worked!

I was able to connect everywhere. And I went directly into Telematic first, install it and add the VIN, after that into BSI and set on Present: Telematic and on Absent: Radio, Display, CD Changer.

What do you think?

Ok great news, just write all previous values down first - really important as some items must be set to certain values.

Try and code the RT6 in first and the screen, let it update and write the configuration file, come out and test the unit. Don't try and change too many things to start with, get the basics done first as it is easier to track what you did. ALWAYS write down any values yiou change FROM and TO, so you can undo them for troubleshooting.

All what I did was to go to Telematic, manual configuration and VIN Code Write. Then the display was restarting, together with the navigation. After this, I went to BSI - Configuration - And Here I have modified the following:

Radio: Change from PRESENT to ABSENT
Display: Change from PRESENT to ABSENT
CD Changer: Change from PRESENT to ABSENT
Telematic: Change from ABSENT to PRESENT.

After that, I have saved this.

Is there everything else what needs to be done?

Thank you.

Dual Tuner should be the same as your previous one.
'Multifunction Screen Option' - should be present
'Presence of a Radio RD4' - No
'Sound Alert for Parking Assistance Emitted by Switch Module Under Steering Wheel' - NO
'Audio Equipment' - ABSENT
'NaviDrive telematic unit' - Present
'Display' - Absent
'Hands Free Kit' - Yes

These are options you might come across - with the settings I think they should be according to my notes (but please record settings before changing).

It seems to me that I couldn’t find these parameters that you are mentioning. Could be because I went into a different place on the menu?

My direction was Fault Read -> configuration.

Can you please show me the correct way?

And I still have to check how to Connect the USB port from hand rest to RT6. I have the connector from doner.

According to 'EDC5' who has the RD45, his USB goes into the back of the RD45 (which is what I think you had) - so can't you just plug this into the RT6?

Re the configuration, this is from the BSI configuration - you have to change modes to configure it (but I can't remember now - a few years since I needed to change anything)! You can change the options from the various ECUs though.

Check if the parking sensor visual and audio display is working too.

The parking sensors were working from the beginning, but regarding the usb, my unit, which was a RD4 N2 by Bosch, has not that connector. So I don’t know how my USB port from hand rest was linked to the player. In the photo it’s my old player.

Ok, can't see the back for connections, but if you say it isn't there it isn't there!

Re the parking sensors - with this system you should get the visual and audio differently - visual on large screen and audio output from the speakers - and possibly, like mine, the speakers output the sound and volume based on the obstacles rear / fron / left/ righ / middle etc. That's what I meant.

Vlad - just seen you added the picture - any chance you can get a clearer shot of the quad lock pins - the big black section with a bit of light so I can see the connections clearly?
