by a mile!
Well, on the bright side at least we've got the new Lounge decently wired , and a certain rather weighty tome in place on the bookshelf.

And an expensive tome too...
Only lounge I know with a three-phase mains supply in it

Shaver sockets can be installed in zone 2. Zone 2 is basically anywhere you are not in the bath or shower. Actually it's more complicated than that but I'm refusing to get the book out, it's the weekend. Jim if you want to install a shaver socket just put it somewhere sensible, I'll do it if you like. As long as it won't get sprayed or dripped on you will be fine.
I've spent all day today exploring HMS Victory and HMS Warrior including a good hours talk with one of the HMS Victory guides. I'm now quite well versed on antique Naval guns and tactics. I also got a look at HMS Elizabeth which is rather large. Pictures to follow tomorrow evening, too tired right now. Victory was an absolute favourite, I grew up visiting the Cutty Sark regularly and I love it but I have to admit that Victory is a much more exciting Ship and a better overall experience. Warrior is prity good too but hasn't the charm and feel of Victory. It's very hands on at the Historic dockyard. I've manhandled all the types of ammunition for the Victorys guns, hauled the weaponry and had a go at setting the flint lock then firing the unloaded cannon. As long as you engage the staff they are happy to let you have a go. If anyone fancies visiting it with me I have 1yr tickets x2 and I'm well up for another visit.

Don't buy a cheap one, Jim, as the transformers can buzz horribly! Depending on access, you can install a remote transformer, which makes a neater job. I put one of these: Decorshave in our new bathroom last year - and it's IP44 so can go anywhere. Our old bathroom has got one in a light over the mirror - fortunately it switches off(*) when the toothbrush is unplugged, as by god does it hum when the transformer is energised! I'm also intrigued that the toothbrush has contactless charging....
* for a while it didn't switch off, I stripped the light down, found a bit of stiction in the mechanism, lubed with vaseline, and no more off load hum!

Richard, that one in the link is just the job!
Much better than the usual 'Chilton' ones you so often see...
Noted on the transformer... That's critical as my bedroom is on the opposite side of the wall...

I hope that's how I'll get taught at college.
I understand that kind of terminology.

Re: Diesel Car Ban
Talking about the Bad Taste bears I got this one for my late Great Aunt. It did make her chuckle, and (when there was talk of her getting a mobility scooter) we were considering getting it adapted to reflect Doris Minor. Now she has passed away I have asked if it is possible for me to have it back, to remember her by;

Re: Diesel Car Ban
Off topic in a totally new way ....
I wrote to the BBC about HMS Victory about 35 years ago. A question on Mastermind - which was the last Royal Navy Battleship in commission. (note, in commission, not service). Answer Vanguard, contestant awarded the point. I wrote to remind them that HMS Victory is a battleship (first rate ship of the line) and was still in commission, think it still is to this day. Got a letter back saying "fair cop. will be more careful next time".
So it goes. Kismet and all.
Suppose HMS Vanguard was a diesel, so back on topic in one swift move....

She still is in commission and proudly fly's the white bosun. HMS Elisabeth is flying the blue bosun as it's not commissioned yet.

I thought that was the White Ensign and Blue Ensign, never heard of the Blue or White Bosun.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.
