This is in France, where the abominable Sans Permis cars can be driven by those who have lost their licence for drunk driving. I once saw a Sans Permis being driven into the LIDL car park (back on topic?) by someone so drunk that they missed the car park entrance by 10 metres and entered the car park across the footpath and a garden.

Only in France

Similar here - "Sin Carnet" - MicroCar, Ligier and a few others. Gruesome.

There was a time when 2CV's were classified as cyclecars & could be seen driven by 15 yr olds with only two wheels on the carriageway - as they were too wide to fit on what we'd now call a cycle lane.

Picked up a sort of catalogue/special offers flyer in Aldi, I was attreacted by the lovely, ersatz Snap-on tool trolley on the cover.

Lots of tools - & some bike stuff!

Lidl has become my new go-to place.
I shunned it for years as my daughter was injured when she worked there and management just ignored it.

Have to say that I spend far too much there and have to seriously limit what I buy as it easily gets out of hand.
I will be buying the LED light for my son - he bought an expensive LED torch with even more expensive leakproof batteries only a couple of months ago and as you will have guessed when he needed it last week the batteries had leaked and it was (insert suitable expletive).

I have a similar one bought from Aldi to help my other son rebuild his motorbike in an otherwise unlit garage.
A day too late as it happened so it sat unopened for a year until I opened it out of curiosity.
Doesn't get used much but is invaluable when we need it.

Mock the week guest had a few jokes about Lidl as she has one right next door.

She says she loves it for the surprise aisle.

Her neigbour one day popped round and asked if she needed anything from Lidl as he was going to get some milk.
15minutes later she gets a phone call from said neighbour who asked if she'd mind picking him up in her car - he'd bought a drum-set.
(badum, tish!)

The one I use now is used very much by the Polish community and I have say how impressed I am by their politeness, civility and consideration for other shoppers, unlike the usual supermarket experience with some of the better known and more 'prestigious' sores.

Not long after I questioned being able to spend £60+ in Lidl's I did just that - because to the weekly shop, I added an electric screwdriver (probably to be baptised by using it to remove the multitude of M10's that secure the transmission oilpan on the spares Cherokee) & a rechargeable multitool; now I've got nothing to compare that with but, 1st off, it worked straight out the box AND there was enough charge to do the job (derusting the trackbar bracket on the same Cherokee). Might even tackle the worst of the rust on the C15.

Only thing that bothers me a little (Lidl's rturns policy is very good) is consumables; if there's no industry standard for those litttle 3-pointed, velcro fitting sanding pads I could be in shtuck in the future.

Look up velcro backed sandpaper roll, you can buy meters of the stuff to cut into any shape you like.

I can go in every third day and spend £60 without any hardware bits and bobs - and there are only two of us live here :)

Went in for bread (love their bread, primary reason for going there), milk, cheese and sandwich stuff, came out £97 lighter.
Crap diet :)

Missus Michel went in last week to do our big food and supplies shop and spent £161! In Lidl! Without buying anything from the surprise aisle!

Obviously, we now have enough food, drink and cleaning materials to last until armageddon/the rapture/the sun expanding and swallowing up the inner rocky planets depending on which ending you believe in..
