1) Completely remove old installation from laptop with uninstall prog and CC Cleaner
2) Reboot and ensure anti virus disabled
3)Ensure Internet adapter is on.
4) If you want me to take a look install Teamviewer and I'll check everything remotely for you:

Hi Marc well I manually activated ok this time and it is now doing the full install of diagbox. If it goes belly up this time I'll let you know and I'll delete all files and log you in and you can watch. Going for tea now while its installing. Cheers.

All looks good and got to run program however its as black as hell again outside so can't check it. I need the extension to run the laptop.

It's an official diag2000 pr37, ada16 obd interface that I'm looking for, at least its schema.

So near yet one million miles away!
Its now booting it down again so packed up having a nice cuppa and watching the cycling on TV.
Frustrating or what? I tried various ways of starting it up and sometimes the app would find the vin and other times it wouldn't. But I always ended the on the same screen.

I had to make my own cable and recall the ordeal getting the pinouts right, so I sympathise with your plight.
I do still have the cable but it's stored in the back of an overfilled shed and I'm not certain I kept the paper sketches I made with the various proposed pinouts I used, sorry.

I thought i should just tack my question on here.

I have had the Lexia for a while but i let the father in law borrow it for a while and due to a duff battery the laptop died and the Diagbox program became corrupted, he re-installed it but only diagbox appeared and he said he could not install any of the updates.
I used it for a bit and sorted the laptop memory battery out and today decided to reinstall the Program, i first had a pop-up saying Diagbox was already installed and i should un-install so i clicked OK and it started doing its thing, i then started the install, selected the language and it started doing it thing and then this pop-up window appears.

Turned off the fire wall and made sure the internet connection is ok, running windows 98 (i think) 32bit, nothing else on the laptop, no anti virus etc but has made no difference.

Anyone else had this issue?

It would seem it was running XP Dean, but the uninstall routine does not completely remove all the previous installation and requires the Diagbox cleaner utility to remove all the registry entries and the application folders.

Trying to reinstall over a prior installation generally won't work.

I tried running the uninstall or cleaner program but i get a sarcastic message pop up that says 'folder is empty so there is no point clicking here ; ) '
Not sure what that is about, it does that for both the uninstall Diagbox and clean tabs.
