C5 2003 HDi Estate Fan heater resister pack

Does anyone know where I can buy a fan heater resister pack ?
I have removed mine and it is from the older version without climate control.
The main dealer wants about £80 which is far too expensive.
Unfortunately I can not find my type on ebay.

The best way to get assistance with part numbers is to post your ViN number. With that the correct part can be found.

Have you tried scrapyards? The control unit is fitted to other Citroen models and also Peugeots such as the 406.

Going back to Ebay. I plugged one of the numbers from the QER site into Ebay and came up with this.

i WOULD LIKE TO FIND THE PART NUMBER SO I CAN SEARCH FOR A BETTER PRICE.

It appears to have been replaced; although the old part is no longer listed. You get the resistor, a bolt and a short piece of loom and it says:

A)FOR VEHICLES EARLIER THAN 02/04/04 CUT HARNESS
AND USE ADAPTER + BOLT

I'm not to keen on cutting the loom and fitting a replacement. Here is a photo of the one I have taken out.

Hi Paul, Everything looks in good condition and no sign of any burn out. The fault I hav is that fan speeds 1 and 2 don't work.
I have a meter and wondered if I could test it somehow?

I have continuety over the ends of the thermal fuse - does this mean it is faulty ?

A house fuse looses continuity if it blows so I am a bit confused.

If the thermal fuse is bust then you won't have anything so it must be OK. One of the pins looks like earth, the others are connected to it via a resistor. You should have continuity between any two pins if all the resistors are OK.

If that thing is as I imagine it will be a 'ladder' network and although you have continuity it may be through the resistors rather than the thermal fuse.
Ideally each component should be disconnected - at least at one end, and measured - otherwise the test current will run through the remainder of the network.

The thermal fuses can be a problem to replace/reattach as a soldering iron will blow the link, they need to be crimped on unless you can isolate them from the heat.
