Hi Guys
I'm new here.
So apologies if i'm doing something wrong!
I've a Citroen c5 2004-2008 which is after developing a strange problem
The passanger side is blowing cold air all the time when the heating fan is turned on, or temperature is changed to Max or Low, Drivers side is fine(its a right hand side drive car)
Anybody point me in a certain direction to find out what going on with it please and thanks.

Re: Dual Climate control one side hot the other cold
Hi and welcome to the Forum.
Yes it quite likely that one of the passenger side flap motors has packed in or worn out. They have plastic gearing that can over time wear the cogs out so it gets stuck in the last position it operated at.

Done this fix myself. There is a modified part needed that main agent knew nothing about until I gave it to them.
Give the forum a search it's on here somewhere but my is a mk1.

Was yours on the passanger side?
I've scoured the site and cant find a "how to" (seen pics for the drivers side)
Can you remember what the part number is please?
Thanks

This is a mk1

Yes mine was the passenger side. Would have thought mk1 and 2 the same but not sure.
Best thing to do is remove yours and check the heater box to see if is chewed up where the motor cog goes.
Passenger foot well on the side of the heater box. Remove and leave plugged in and see if cog moves when adjusting temp and flap controls. Think I removed the glovebox to make it easier to remove.

Re: Dual Climate control one side hot the other cold
Post up your VIN and I'll have a look for the part and see if it is any different from the Mark I. The controls can vary depending on Mono or Dual zone climate control on the Mark II.Gazzaman22 wrote:Was yours on the passanger side?

Re: Dual Climate control one side hot the other cold
My C5 mk1 facelift (2007) has this fault on the drivers side. Seems to be a common fault with the 407's where the spindle to the flap fails. I need to fix mine as in this weather my side of the car is baltic!!

Re: Dual Climate control one side hot the other cold
Ok, first there are significant differences between the Mark I and your Mark II. For a start yours has Dual Zone Air conditioning and the Mark 1 doesn't, so there are additional Reduction motors on the Mark II and are different parts completely.
On the first picture, the reduction gear is identified as parts 1 and 2. There are two part 2 units, left and right - so would suggest that your left hand one is possibly the faulty one. There are 2 units on each side of the vehicle. On each side there is one unit for the air distribution (2) and another unit (3) next to it for the mixing flaps. So you'll need to do a bit of testing to see if it is either the air that is not blowing on the left or the whether the air is remaining at the same temperature, depending on how you have set the air distribution control.
Getting to these may involve taking the passenger glovebox off, unless you can get in by removing the passenger footwell trim (gearbox side) and getting in and above to the right of the pollen filter (the cartridge looking slot shown where the (a) is on the picture - but there are 4 bolts holding each of these units on.

Re: Dual Climate control one side hot the other cold
My mark 1 (01) had dual zone heating, I think it depends on the trim level. I had the same problem but sometimes found that if you turn the heat right down, wait for it to settle and then turn it right up again it would sometimes respond.

Re: Dual Climate control one side hot the other cold
I think the Mark 1 has separate temp controls. but not sure about the separate air distribution controls like the Mark II on, so would have the mixer flap, but the diagrams are not very useful.
