So just what is the difference thenlexi wrote:AFAIK when you claim for a windscreen, you have a claim on your policy. It does not affect NCD but is loaded against you on renewal.
Someone did an article on it, maybe Money Matters or the like.
What I said basically. It's not always the case but can be factor in working out your basic premium.lexi wrote:AFAIK when you claim for a windscreen, you have a claim on your policy. It does not affect NCD but is loaded against you on renewal.
Your insurance quotation consists of your basic premium but then less the NCD. The NCD is a percentage and so if the basic premium is raised then the percentage is of a higher price.Stickyfinger wrote:So just what is the difference then
Yeah, but premiums fluctuate anyway and you are a year older and your car may drop £1500 in value on renewal from previous year.GiveMeABreak wrote:Has not affected me at all, my premiums have stayed the same or come down even, and that is with the same insurer.
Better not have dropped by £1500! Anyway - I pay in, don't claim, pay to protect my NCD, so I think a £240 windscreen once every 5 years that costs the insurance company £150 (after I've paid my additional £90 excess) is not taking the Michael.lexi wrote: Yeah, but premiums fluctuate anyway and you are a year older and your car may drop £1500 in value on renewal from previous year.
I drove like a Loony yesterday............yet today, my premium is the same
