If you have a RNEG, you'll need 4 of these:

Hi Marc,
Thanks for the reply. My VIN is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff].
I am wanting to check for cooling fan operation as the unit keeps re-booting and the posts above identify this as a possible cause.
Regards
Francis

They're only a couple of £s and can be bought from Amazon or EBay - like these:

To find out the firmware version, press the SETUP button. From the list. scroll down until you find SYSTEM, select this option, then from the following list, select SOFTWARE VERSION. This will tell you the current firmware version of your system. Let me know what that is, then I can determine the update you need (if any).
Hi, hope you don't mind me jumping in.

The central console on my C5 VTR+ has started resetting itself every 30 minutes or so. Still retains previous sat nav destinations (and radio channels) but doesn't retain any sat nav instructions since start up.

Car is a 2009 model.
Software is rneg_D_R20ter_R20.07

It was mentioned before about when economy mode kicks in, and mine kicks in now after only a couple of minutes .. don't know if that's relevant.

Your car won't kick into economy mode with the engine running. Your firmware is quite out of date. Also as per the other links I posted in the thread, the SD card can become corrupt. Try switching the ignition off, remove the SD card and then try using the unit for audio only without the NAV and see if the unit still restarts.

Is there a guide for updating firmware? Got R20.07 on mine, and just downloaded that R50.03.

You should just need to unzip the firmware files on a spare FAT32 formatted SD card. Ensure there are no other files on the card (just don't use the SD card that has your navigation mapping data on)!
Then ensure the engine is running and insert the SD card. It should then detect the system update firmware and ask you if you want to proceed, with a warning to keep the engine running.

OK, thanks. It seems really easy then.

What are the options for getting Bluetooth streaming to work with this HU? I guess there's no way to control phone's playback via car's interface and steering wheel buttons with some external box?

There were several versions of the unit - if your unit supports Bluetooth streaming, then you should be able to change tracks etc from the steering wheel or HU controls.

I think MyWay - RT5 doesn't support bluetooth music streaming. Yatour box seems to have even AVRCP, have to try that then.

Should there be any specific folder structure for mp3-files on sd-card? I just added some mp3's to my map-card (folder music on root, and in there artist/album/mp3-files, also renamed database-folder to "database_" so that navigation doesn't work), but there's no option to access sd-card from music menu. What am I doing wrong?

You must NOT change anything on the mapping SD card!
Put it back as it was originally, remove the folders you have created and the files and rename any folders back as they were. The mapping SD card must not be changed as per the manual.

Get yourself another SD card just for MP3 music. Use your PC to format it as FAT 32. Create the artist Folders in the root, then from there go into the artist folder and create the album folder. Then add the music files. Try and keep music song titles to 20 characters or less. Always come out of Music Player mode before removing the SD card from the unit.

OK, this is not the original maps card that came with the car. It's card I created with 2016 maps, and it worked just fine for navigation (64gb FAT32 formatted). I've just ordered another 16gb card for maps and I'm intending to use that 64gb card for music, but tried to test that way before removing navigation files. Quite sensitive system I must say...

I'll try to delete navigation files all together on that card, and then put artist folders directly in the root.
