Yes, I ran a 5Km Parkrun on Saturday in the mud and rain :D

I ran another 5Km in the rain yesterday and today I swam in a very wet swimming pool ;)

I've also ran in hard frost... And I cycle in all but hard rain...

So yes, I guess I'm a masochist

I spent years getting wet and cold as I had to. I avoid it now. The only wet I do is a hot bath [emoji12] [emoji23]

I seem to like getting wet... Running in the rain is actually quite enjoyable.. Sky coolant!

That's very understandable Davie. Cold and wet is a lot different from warm and wet which is what I tend to do most of the time...

Speaking of masochist, Robyn, Sian and I have just signed up for the MK Rocket 5Km race on the day before the MK Marathon - I'm running in the Marathon (half only) as well!

It'll be good as we'll be running on closed roads in Milton Keynes... It will seem odd running along a big dual-carriageway totally devoid of traffic except runners...

Those snow shoe grips are worth a look. I have something similar, and in packed snow (or ice) you have good traction. I gave my Mum a set, and she reckoned that they may have saved her from an injured leg when her dog pulled off at an angle (whilst being walked on hard frozen ground). Although she went off balance the grips stopped her from falling awkwardly.

Although they are not shown on the list, Lidl are doing reusable pocket hand warmers for £1.50 a pair. They are good for around 1,000 cycles. I have got a couple of pairs for my landlord (who has a problem with poor circulation around his knee, which had some work done on it (i.e., replaced!)). Flex the metal disk a few times until the liquid switches to a crystalline form, 1 hour of heat (around 50 C), then pop into a saucepan of boiling water until the contents turn fully liquid, and they are ready to use again.

Great things these......well worth it.

(Also great for stomach aches as well, place on your (or the other half's for bonus points in the bank) belly where the pain is.... .)
