Not necessarily Jim, This 3500S sold at Anglia Car Auctions for just over £4,000 at the end of August, and looks quite similar

Image

and Brightwells at their July 2016 Auction sold this 1970 Automatic 2000SC ...same spec as todays £12,200 car.....for £1,200 :-D

Image

The Brightwells lot may have been a one-off P6, but I did think that it being a 2000SC and automatic as well, it would fall into a category of not being that popular despite the low milage and condition of the car. Two or more individuals obviously wanted it, and were prepared to pay top money for it to get it. The P5's at the sale didn't come anywhere near.

If you are interested in the classic car auction like me there are many regular auctions across the Country including Matthewsons near Pickering North Yorkshire. Their home page has some lovely images on a slide show which really make the most of the beautiful North York Moors and worth a look.

First up is a Ford Cortina Mk 1, crossing the railway at Levisham Station on the NYM railway, and the shot of the Healey up in the heather...excellent.

Matthewsons North Yorkshire-nice pics

What a lovely set of pictures Neil :D That MK1 Cortina (a proper early one with the white front indicators) is absolutely gorgeous in baby blue and white roof... Love it to bits and a lovely scene with the railway in the background...

A joy to behold :D

The A40 Police car is gorgeous :D

What really shocked me was what this scrap Beemer went for...

http://www.angliacarauctions.co.uk/en/c ... mw-30-csi/

Did it include the weeds too

Must be something a bit special about it...

I thought one of the Maseratis looked good for the money, then I read this bit...... "The vendor informs us that this example has a full Maserati main dealer service history and was last serviced at 50,206 miles at a cost of £3,335.86. "
Basically, the service cost a third of the value of the car. Maybe I won't buy a Maserati this week :)
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that a good one of those Beemers disappeared and was suddenly resurrected with the details of that scrappy.

£30k worth of motor if restored there. Big job though, but it's probably quite solid as they were very well built.
