That's one thing I love about my xantia especially with disabled legs the braking system. Can anyone enlighten me as to how to operate the suspension buttons on the c5 please before I go looking this weekend now levers I understand but buttons are a bit techy without. A handbook at the ready. Cheers Nigel.

There are two buttons down near the gear lever (three if Hydractive 3+, with the third being sport). There may also (depending on the equipment level on the C5 in question) be a display on the upper centre dashboard (shows the clock, radio details, etc.). When you press one of the suspension buttons this display will then show whether the car is going up or down.

Single press between stages. The levels are; bottomed out (0MPH), normal (full speed range), high (24MPH), very high (6MPH). The VTR does show you what is happening on that display. It may disable manual height control when you are travelling at speed.

All being well, and the suspension is fully functioning, it will change the ride height according to the conditions. For example, at motorway speeds it lowers the height by about a centimetre or so.

There is a switch on the inside right side of the interior boot that can raise or lower the car for loading.

Oh yes, there is that as well. Citroen have also got it right with loading. The boot lip on the estate is at the same level as the bumper, so no awkward lifting up and in. When you close the boot the estate car will (assuming it has not gone into economy mode to protect the battery) raise the back up to normal ride height.

The beauty of the C5 system, is that if you leave car on high, your daughter borrowing car, does not come back in 5 minutes saying there is a bumping from suspension at 30mph. It automatically adjusts to road speed.

Yes, you can't command a height outside of the set speed tolerance when travelling

Well I didn't get to go anywhere today Father was carted off by ambulance this am and I now have to look after Mum as she has dementia so it looks like the 110s are going to pass me by yet again. I have an awful feeling I shall end up with a battered old Ford instead because life ain't on my side at the moment. We had an ambulance out last night to my dad and he said he didn't want to go into hospital so the ambulance crew told him they could arrange for the ICT care nurse to pop in just to check on him from time to time so he agreed to that. So the first nurse
came over this am and called an ambulance. The ICT have now lost his trust completely because he feels that they tricked him into being pushed to go into hospital. I've also let them know how I feel about this they say they are short staffed. If they are short staffed they should be honest about it and not Promise a patient help they cannot give. I am livid with them at the moment.

Commiserations Nigel. All I can say is roll with it, something else will come along.

Paul. Thanks its not the best weather for testing a cars cooling fans to be honest at minus two outside with the windchll it won't let an engine get hot enough. To test the cooling system properly. Far to cold.
