Hi
I hope that you can offer some advise based on your experience. the attached pictures show the problem I have with the front bumper on my c5 2007. as you can see, the bumper is not in its normal place. I assume that what causes it is that the "tooth" that connects it to the vehicle's body is damaged or the female receptacle that the tooth inserted in.
Please let me know if you know a way to repair it, without replacing the bumper, of course.
Thanx.
Here's the procedure for removing and refitting a MKII bumper. It's likely at some point the bumper has not been removed / re-fitted properly and the clips have been bent out of position. At least with the bumper off you might be able to see the damage and whether you can 'shape' the clips back into position if possible.
Removal
Remove the under engine protection.
Remove: The screws (3) and (4);
the protection deflectors (1) and (2)
Remove bolts (5) each side.
Remove the bolts (6).
Unclip the bumper at " a". Remove the front bumper.
Disconnect the electrical harness.
Refitting
Proceed in the reverse order to removal.
Engage the cut-outs " c", "e" and "g" onto the tongues "b", "d" and "f" of the front bumper (7)
and the pin "j" in the hole "h" of the front wing.

Hi ATR,
We have been away and I only just noticed your post and am not sure if you have fixed it.
So here goes.
The diagrams seem to cover front bumper removal and replacement but not the adjustment necessary to try and cure your misalignment problem.
With the bumper removed and roughly in line with the left and right hand edges of the bonnet you will see two brackets which support the front of the bumper and can be adjusted with the usual 10 mil nut.
There is a black plastic moulding behind the bumper held with an array of self tapping screws and it is this that sits on the adjustable brackets. It is possible that if there has been a coming together involving the front of the car, that this moulding has been deformed. If so you need to decide on a wire/glue repair or replacement.
I have found that setting these brackets needs to be an interference fit when removing or replacing the bumper to give the correct alignment with the wings and windscreen washers if fitted.
I can only suggest trial and error to get the alignment as you want and it can be a pain because the bumper has to be lifted in and out of place until you get it right.
If you take a look at this topic - http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... 5&start=15 and go to the 8th post down on page 2, you'll see I've added a picture of when I had my front bumper removed. You may be able to see what's broken or bent.
