Xantia 2.0 hdi
Bit of a basic question but can someone please tell me do the brakes, steering and suspension all work off the LHM fluid as I am trying to trace a leak, first noticed that the little yellow disc was at a low level and the STOP light stayed on, many thanks

Yes
Where is it wet on the bottom? There are several common candidates, depending on where it is leaking!

Thanks for your reply Richard, I am hoping to get it up on a ramp tomorrow to establish where the leak is.

Hi Richard, I have found the problem fortunately its a pipe that has fractured, difficult to describe but its close to the bottom sphere in front of the engine, it goes from a plastic part up to a metal pipe, Citroen main agent only I guess.

Further to my last post, the rubber pipe is fitted with crimped hose clips, do you think jubilee clips would do the job ok, Thanks.

Re: Xantia 2.0 hdi
Generally they're re-usable Bill and if possible do re-use them and they put even pressure all around the pipe which is something a Jubilee clip will not do. I always do and have the special tool for them but a pair of carpenter's pincers often work well and even a pair of side-cutters intended for snipping wires can work well to close them back up.bill hughes wrote:Further to my last post, the rubber pipe is fitted with crimped hose clips, do you think jubilee clips would do the job ok, Thanks.
Pop them off using a sharp pointed instrument like a scriber under the clip part...

Thanks for the tip Jim, I haven't removed the offending pipe yet but when I do I am going to have it framed, 54 euros for a relatively short piece of rubber return tube.

They use a random number generator to determine pricing Bill
