Bought the Damaged screw remover set a few years ago - good for Screws, less so on Studs unless they are not seized too much. Need a lot of pressure to bite into the stud. Nice idea though. Best I have ever used were Dormer - the black German made Taper type kept breaking and proved too hard to drill out, causing an additional problem. BTW the cotton Men's Utility T-Shirt are very soft and comfy!! :wink:

Well, Lidl are doing a load of car bits next MOnda (18/07), including a dash cam. Be aware that the last time they had dash cams they sold out with a couple of hours;

That's a cheap dash cam but is it any good?

The only real way to know is to buy one and see. However, in my experience I have found stuff I have bought from Lidl and Aldi have been, in the main, of good quality. I can only recall two occasions when I have had to return something.

What I was told was that, over time, the higher power (not voltage) of the Duracell batteries will slowly burn this off. It gets to the point where some buttons need to be pressed hard to work.

I know that you believe the Sky engineers were taking the mickey out of me (and yes, they might have been). However, I have seen a failed remote, and the carbon pads were shot.
Old post and off topic I know, but the real issue with the Sky remotes/buttons needing to be pressed hard is actually dirt/dust/grease buildup (presumably from ends of fingers, yuck!) and if dismantled & given a good thorough clean/dry they work like new again...

James, yes, the Sky engineers were spinning you a good old yarn ;)

As ekjdm says, it's dirt and grime that causes it. Duracells only cause problems when they leak, which sadly nowadays they do all too frequently and often long before they are fully spent.

No, the one I'm thinking of refers to raising an old post from its long slumber....

I believe the "official" term is thread necromancy, although in this case I plead not guilty as the thread itself was still alive and well, just a post from a few pages back lol :)

Certainly Duracell batteries are not worth the premium price they carry, however at risk of further derailing the thread I have to say Bosch Silver car batteries are most excellent, having committed a bona-fide act of battery-necromancy recently with the 4BN from our Escort that had been stood for 8yrs+, more in hope than expectation I stuck it on the trusty Gunson for a couple of days and it picked up nicely and has been starting the car/moving the windows & roof round etc for a good few days over the last week without problems...

Anyway back on topic :D Aldi had a couple of random orbital polishers left in the Congleton store earlier today, not used ours much yet but it shows promise for 12 quid (always enjoy a trip there, they stock some very nice black pudding indeed!)
