Xantia - Identifing strut top part number

Hi

I got used top strut , how can I know its Citroen part number ? Are there any external signs that links the strut top to its Citroen part number ?

Is there any major difference between the various strut tops but the threading standard ?

I don't think that there is any way to determine the part number of a strut top unless you know the model and build date of the car it came from. If it looks the same as the one you are removing, and the threads and strut hole are the same size, it will probably be OK.

I also wondered why so many different strut tops if they are mainly the same under the skin. There has to be more to it?

Hi Marc

I have the part number for may cat. I just look for information regarding the different strut top , and if I can link between the used strut I got and their part number. Some numbers/letter are coined on each of them but I didn't find a way to link it to their part number
