Vinyl Wrap or Paint job?
Excellent, thanks for all that Neil :D

I confess that I rarely go to The Shopping Centre in CMK unless there is something specific I want and then it's in and out pronto... I don't do shopping

And as the Blott shop likely has and will never will have anything I want it's likely always to remain unknown to me... I cannot see how an electric rubber could ever possibly enhance my life

It does sound a bit Reggie Perin indeed, do they accept cheques issued by the Jodrell Bank?

As part of our recent trip to North Wales we were passing through Colwyn Bay so I had a little visit to Altlantic Motorhomes who are specialists in Citroen H Van restorations and mechanical conversions. Introduced myself to the owner Alan, and I enjoyed a good chat about the restorations and conversions in progress.

I like these old French Vans.

A mate has just bought a Pug J7 to start a Catering Business.

So much nice than a converted Transit or similar
Xantia 2.0SX estate (now sold)
Xantia 1.9 TD SX hatch 102K (all old MOT'S) and working A/C.(Sold to forum member, time to save for a C5)
2007 Berlingo Multispace 1.4i Forte, bought in November with genuine 27k miles, now on 39799 miles.

I can vouch for the quality of their restorations, they are fairly local to me. A friend of mine actually designed the gearbox adaptor plate for them to enable the ford engines to be fitted. May sound like sacrilege but it's a cheap modern engine that mates to the original gearbox and brings an h up to modern traffic speeds. It's nice actually, a fair few h vans driving around up here these days and its 99% down to these guys.

For forum Members from North Wales, you may come across this H-Van in the vicinity of Conwy.

The proprietors have the Providero Tea and Coffee House in Llandudno Junction near Conwy North Wales

That was an old post of mine from very early on in the thread. I spotted Providero at LLandudno Junction as we were passing. Not sure if they still have their H-Van.

Plenty more innovation to come I think from Alan and his team at Atlantic Motorhomes and for anyone interested in H-Vans, a definite website to bookmark.

Does anybody know if there are any similarities mechanically between a H Van and a J7 Pug?

I don't personally but I do know someone who does!....Alan from Atlantic Motorhomes. They are in the business of rebuilds, and engine conversions, as well as servicing of motorhomes. If I had a J7, and lived within reasonable travelling distance, I would contact them for a decent honest service of the vehicle. It may well be a sobering opinion you receive, as standards of restoration vary widely and if the van is also your business, it needs to be earning money reliably meeting all of its bookings, and spending as little time as posssible off the road for maintenance problems.

Here's their page on the J7 with some useful info.

J7 page-citroenhyonline.co.uk

Two very enterprising young ladies from up here, started up "Scream for Pizza" using a J7 van "Goldie". They have established a very successful business but not without its maintenance problems with their "pesky J7" particularly in the early days.

They call their business "Serra Da Estrela" and sell amongst other things Portugese Custard Tarts (pastéis de nata).

Never knew until I looked it up Serra Da Estrella is the highest mountain range in Portugal and includes within its gems, this particular curiosity "Lagoa dos Conchos" with its own plughole :-D

But it's practical... Nearly got one when the kids were little... Still have a liking for them now.. They're quirky as a Citroen should be...

Three seats at the front was a major factor... Great way to avoid sibling arguments about who sat in the front!
