thanks Marc..
how can comfort be a sodding plip entry option.. there is no comfort in that!. I want comfort options that give me ambient lighting and stealth mode engine noise and a drop down duvet! not plip entry door selection! ;)

as for lighting, I think all that's in there is follow me home lighting on/off and duration.. the parameters option is just metric / imperial..

Sorry if this is a bit 'all over the place' I'm trying to remember from a while back (until I can get out in the morning and have a play) yep - it's a bu**er to get set up. There is a setting you need to make in Diagbox - as an example, there is an option that you set in diagbox 'When Actioning Unlocking by High Frequency Remote Control' - where if you select 'Unlocking of Driver's Door Only' - it effectively removes the option from the car's Comfort Menu! - So to get it back, you have to select the 'Simultaneous Unlocking of All the Doors' option and IIRC it puts it back on to the car menu! - But without checking and causing the error again - it could be the other way around !! - So I'll have a look tomorrow to confirm.

Now the Electronic Parking brake option seemed to disappear from the menu when configuring other options like the plip locking and something else. When I went into Diagbox, I remember it did not save the option. So I had to put the option back on for it to reappear in the car menu again.

Now I put this down to a buggy version of Diagbox due to the telecoding issues and haven't had cause to try it again - so I'll check tomorrow - and there will be curses flying  if I loose my options again in the name of testing!! :-D

:rofl2: good luck

at one point tonight I had to identify myself as the repairer.. my service location was 'the farm'

god knows what that will cause me in the future..
you would think messing about on a laptop doing stuff is an easy way to fix the car ;) but its cold and takes ages with no result and the whole process is filled with anxiety!

Yes - not sure whether that codes the name of the 'Technician' and the 'Garage' to a Diagbox log or to the BSI itself and keeps a record of who did what!!! That will be interesting next time you are in the main dealers and they tell you they didn't know they had a new 'Eco' dealership on your Farm, not that they have renamed their 'Technicians' to the 'Repair Men'!
I did see during another session when I was clearing some fault logs, there was a message saying there was storage for 50 'something or others' - but can't remember now.

Oh definitely agree with that - anxiety levels through the sunroof (if I had one) when deciding - "shall I hit confirm? - No, better not - let's go back and check all the options again" - then "perhaps not, maybe I should take another print out of all the configuration pages as I'm not sure if the last printout has the wrong or right configuration"... and so on and so forth!!

That's what happened to me after another telecoding session - cured one problem and then lost my welcome driver's function, so when I came to get in the car for a trip, opened door and my seat refused to move up to the driving position - a quick check and the damned menu option was missing again! Put me in a bad mood until I got back then out with the laptop again! I'm hoping all the C5 telecoding bugs have gone in this version 8 now - I guess we'll find out in the morning... groan.

Marc,

As an aside when I was speaking to Easy Diagnostics yesterday I was informed the latest version of DG removes some of the eariler options.

They suggested using the versions up to 7.62 work fine with cars right up to 2015. They new update is for the most recent models.

Kenny - absolutely - no need to upgrade if all is working. I'm not sure if you have seen these yet, but I put together a change log of all the fixes in the Version 7 of Diagbox onward, just prior to V8, so members could see if there were any issues affecting their vehicles - especially any Diagbox bugs. Some of the software versions have huge issues and can cause a headache if you weren't aware of these. For example on the C5 X7, the door locking options went missing in V7.66 and were reinstated in version 7.67 - and that is just one example we are discussing above.

To be honest, I doubt EasyD have time to search out and digest all the changes for one diagnostic system out of all the others - so that's why I put the list together - have a squiz and it might help you determine if there is anything you need to be aware of :-D

It's on the Wiki - Link here for you:

In fact - I think it would be useful for members with Diagbox 7 to have a look too - as this may answer some questions

Marc,

Brilliant, yes the staff at ED said there were upgrades made items went missing and returned on next upgrade and something else would disappear.

I would highly recommend ED as the service they provided myself was of the highest quality.

Cheers Kenny - I will be updating the logs to cover V8 in the future, once there's enough to get me back into 'Wiki mode'. Not an exact science I'm afraid when it comes to Diagbox and Clones! - There are just too many variables - age of Car, Model, Variant, Car Communication BUS, Software Version, Hardware Version, Firmware Version  and so it goes on - but at least we have a good amount of input here from members to build up a picture of what works and what doesn't! :-D

Got mine too from ED - the A.1281.Z unit and so far all is ok

Well contrary to popular belief I have not disappeared off the face of the forum today - I have instead been reinstalling Diagbox (twice) :lazer: after checking out the handbrake issue this morning as promised. What a disaster that was - after I found the configuration area, it deactivated everything before it would allow me to change anything. When I came back out, and went back into the programme, activation was required unusually and it would not accept it - asking for another reinstall! Well after spending all day doing this from V7 back up to 8.17 again, only for the same thing to happen again, I'm not in the best of moods.

I refused a third install, and copied licence file back over and that appears to be accepting it - but for some reason any telecoding is screwing it up. So I'm awaiting some feedback as to find out what's going on here. If, as some have said on the Web that manual telecoding is being removed in V8.**- then so is this version of Diagbox! So unless a resolution can be found without editing the individual files to override this option, I will going back to V7.75. Now where are those beverley's I've been saving since Christmas for a special occasion..

yikes many thanks Marc for trying :O
I went back to farm and sat in car from 6 to about now..
I got a fair bit further in some ways! I finally found out how/where to configure anything! (I am a beginner really with all of this)
but the maintenance tab , and sub areas (maintenance, overhaul) were no use..
the fault area was not much use but spent some time in there..
finally I went into the repair area I think its called.. and quite a long way into all of that.. pre delivery, etc etc.. I got a lost of items somewhere and went into them and did some configuring.. index rear view mirror, dash lights dependant on ambient lighting etc etc..not sure anything worked with regard the changes but at least I was in the right area at last...
nothing to obvious in comfort..
In the handbrake area, there is pack repatriation or what its called.. and within that are options to replace the cables or the unit..

so as it stands, I still don't really know how to turn my handbrake via diagbox, off to change the discs and pads (in the hope it may help the MOT) and I don't know how to enable manual handbrake activation to turn it off that way.

but.. I feel I have got further than last night./

My Diagbox status thingy says Diagbox 7.02 ..

No worries John - I have just added a post on the main Diagbox thread as a warning! :-D I was then going to come back here and update on where we were!

Here's my dash so you can see what I have showing: From here you can set it to automatic or manual. I think I left it on Auto for the recent MOT and this has reminded me to turn it off again!

So tomorrow. I'll be uninstalling V8.17 and going back to 7.57 and then out to the car to locate the options for you! Or that's the plan - knowing my luck, I;ll have a bloody Windows update issue just to really cheer me up!

oops - this is a bit big isn't it! Too late in the day to resize now.

That driving position opening option - is that for the seat sliding back when you open the door?
