Xantia TD Immbolizer

Post by ecohouse1 »

Just out of interest around the immobilzer issues I am having with my Xanty TD, I have read that the stop solenoid area is armoured to keep it thief proof I presume. Why cant I just tap into the wiring to the armoured area to "over ride" the immobiliser? I realise that this cant be possible with all the posts about drilling off the armour etc but was just interested as I see two wires at the lower front of the Bosch pump on mine.

Cheers

It is not as simple as that Alan :(

The pump-end of the immobiliser is piggy-backed over the top of the stop solenoid under the armour. The module makes a direct connection to the solenoid and it cannot be accessed external to the armour..

The only way is to de-armour the pump... That's very much a case of removing the pump from the engine.

This webpage shows the immobiliser module under the armour and gives one method of de-armouring...

It is certainly one way around the problem you have Alan..

No, I believe Alan's TD is a late S2 with the RFID/Transponder immobiliser Mark...

Alan,

the good news is you do not need to remove the pump from the car but you must be careful of swarf when dealing with the protective bolts.

I used dremel with a cutting blade to puta slot in the head to turn it with a screw driver.

I'll find my long bosch pump thread where i talk about all my fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jim,

you must remember the number of times I had the pump off and on, I got quite good at removing and refitting it.
