Date & Time resetting to y2000 after the car is turned off

Hi. I have a 307 cc 2004 model. The car always starts first time and runs really well. However, recently after the car has been turned off. when I restart the Date & Time display is flashing and has gone back to the year 2000. I can adjust the date and time back to correct settings. but as soon as I turn off the ignition and restart it needs resetting again. Has anybody else had this problem, and do you know how to fix it, Many thanks Brian

Do you have an aftermarket radio fitted ?

You could check (pull the display panel out) that there is a permanent 12v supply here. There should (from memory) be a 12v 'ignition/accesssory' supply (only present when key is in or turned) and a permanent 12v supply too.

thanks for your reply. I don't have an after market anything, all the bits are standard and I have had the car 11 years now. However your suggestion sounds really good, I will get that checked out. Thanks again.

Check ALL of the fuses are the correct rate and they all are fitted as per the book......has the shunt fuse been moved ?
