It is sporting a tatty black radiator grille now but otherwise looking none the worse for its recent encounter with thieves...

The Yapp Wines H Van is a bit like the Ravens in the Tower of London.. When it's not there the world does not seem quite right...

Couple of pics from Yapp, and an update from their webpage
Breaking news is that a friendly lorry driver spotted a suspicious white VW van at the scene of the crime and captured its ‘LJ 52 *** number plate on his dash-cam. Please do not hesitate to contact us here at Yapp Brothers if you can assist us in our enquiries or in sourcing replacement parts. We are determined to redress this injustice!

We went to our local museum yesterday, to look at an exhibition. They also have this on display, I suppose you could call it an H-inspired minor...

Also by the same artist (Jeff Thomson), this was his personal transport:

Yes, it looks even better up close. He apparently chose the Minor as a subject because the curves would be challenging!

I'd missed the disappearance of the Yapp "H" - due to my thrashes up & down the 303, at this time of year, are in the dark!

Glad it's back though.

as for the cost of maintaining, never mind restoring, an H-van in the 'States, if the input from American members of a 2CV forum is anything to go by - astronomical!

Well what's significant about the picture above amongst all the other Citroen H Van spots on the thread?

..........Its got the honour of appearing on the on the front cover of my 2016 Vistaprint custom Citroen "H" Calendar :-D

Got to say excellent quality and value. Others making the cut included this one from Edinburgh.

Tea and Crumpets sounds nice, and quite an enterprising back story of making her idea happen for Emilie Holmes the young entrepreneur behind Good and Proper Tea Co.

Just recording this link-Retro Rides-1970 Citroen HY Van so I can find it again should the need arise. Excellent series of posts in relation to the restoration, and enhancement of a Citroen HY Van.

At the start of the process.....interesting angle makes the Citroen H seem huge compared to the VW

Image

and the end.......holidaying in France

Image

Its got an engine in from an Audi A4 1.9TDI, and hats off to the restorer, he did a fantastic job and brilliant pictures of every stage. Here's a picture of the front subframe mounting bolts for eg

Image

Remove them and out comes the engine and all the front running gear on a nice little trolley!

Now that's a bit interesting.. A manual box on the end of a motor.. I wonder if you just cut power to the motor to de-clutch or if a normal clutch is still required?
