Hydraulic safety valve

Hi All,

Does anyone have an exploded diagram of the safety valve

Re above I have searched the net and found nothing but I'm now looking for the position of the pipes or does it not matter.

Kenny, I'll certainly have what you need but I'll have no access to it until later this afternoon..

It'll be in the Xantia Hydraulic Diagrams in the official Service manuals..

If you don't have what you need by the time I can get access to mine, I'll scan up what you need..

Critical what ports they go in, I would think....! Not exactly clear, but I think you can see it from service.citroen

Suspension pipes - feed in the bottom front port, outlet top front port



Brake pipe - out from the top rear port.

I think I have worked it out from a diagram in my french Xantai book (Revue Technique Auotmobile) but the service site does not help as it shows 3 pipes going into the top which is not correct.

The order I have found is as follows

Supply from pressure regulator to safety valve top left (4.5mm) below safety valve to distributor valve, top right rear suspension to rear distributor valve and below safety valve to bulk head connector which goes to the height connector.

It is where the other 3 smaller pipes go I want to confirm. Anything which shows this will be great.

As per my earlier post I think I know but wish to confirm.

Safety Valve

Kenny, I've only just got back home and no time now to scan up the picture now but hopefully this will help..

Imagine the security valve with the electrical socket and pressure switch pointing upwards..

On that view, the top left orifice is the high pressure inlet, top right orifice is outlet to the brakes.

Bottom right orifice is the outlet to the rear height corrector and bottom left orifice is to the front height corrector...

Hope that helps, I'll get the diagram posted as soon as I can tomorrow morning, hopefully...

Heres some pictures of what might be it. I need some directions though, I have no idea where it is. I'll get better pics tomorrow if this is the right place. I used to big a camera and missed the daylight.

Jim you have confimred I've got it right.

James the safety valve is located on the nearside of the subframe just behind the wheel arch. I'll take a photo when I refit the subframe.

Sorry I'll no be able to get down there at the moment.
I'd assumed it was under the bonnet.
