Standard points 10 doubled up to 20 for the "ute". Now if it had been orange...bucketloads of bonus points

I've got a T25...well...a vaguely T25 shaped block of rust held together by some bits of solid metal anyway. It's not orange though, nor a ute. It's a home-brew camper conversion, and in a very faded pale blue colour, with patches of Hammerite in some areas, and then bits of rust or missing metal entirely.

Cannot help but remember seeing a coach that a friend of mine had in the shop for paintwork - it was a proper full-size coach (DAF based Bova Futura if I remember right), and it was in that metallic neon orange colour. I first saw it on a sunny day, and reckon I was seeing the world in shades of blue for about an hour afterwards...

There may be a few more Aston Martins on the roads of Northumberland this weekend as the Aston Martin Owners Club, make their way up to Alnwick Castle for their Autumn Concours d'Elegance.

The Aston Martin DB5 makes it into the 120 of I-spy Classic Cars as does the V8 in all its variations inc Vantage/Volante.

I prefer the older ones myself

There was an hotel owner in Whitby that had one of these:

DB 2-4 Superleggera Spyder. Passed it every day on my way to work when in my teens until one day it was a complete mess having had an argument with a sheep on the moors.
He was lucky to have lived.

I was very envious of the car although barely knowing what it was at the time.

Can't be as bad as one of Gateshead's finest unfinished projects at £600 on Gumtree (no engine either :!: )

Actually about the same I reckon, Neil!

Though mine does have an engine, and it runs, drives and stops just fine (even the handbrake works). Just the body that's shot! Aside from one outrigger, even the chassis seems to be pretty much fine.

This is what mine looked like when I first got it home.

Image

I'd really love to be able to restore it to be honest, but I simply don't have the resources - that and the fact that it's currently parked 500 odd miles away and the cost of getting it trailered down here would be prohibitive.

My spot for the day comes under the heading of "once they were everywhere, but when did you last see one?"

Image

Sorry for the blurry photo, it was far darker than the photo makes it look. Car looked to be in near mint condition at a glance though.

There's got to be a few classics out today, even with the top down, bright, sunny, fresh and clear in Northumberland today. So out of the window goes the rule book, absolutely anything remotely interesting gets points today.

Feel a bit sorry for the good old 2cv, which makes the 120 in I-spy classic cars, but is the only one in the entire book which scores only 5 points :!: :!:

So at the very end of the "summer Season" any 2cv spot with a picture gets 500 today. A genuiine one with snow on of course would get 999

The 2CV is very good in the snow... When I had an R4 (which was second best), a 2CV was first out of our road wehn snowed in back in 1978 and my R4 was the second!!!

Light weight and skinny tyres are the secret apparently...
