Same PCD as loads of ford stuff, so should be no trouble finding some cheap wheels for track, then.

You'll need 20mm spacers to run ford wheels, but compomotive alloys are commonly found for ford 4 stud whereas seems citroen 3 stud!

Try finding compos in 3 stud these days though!
I had a set of toora 3 studs, looked like OZ wheels and weighed a ton!

Yes Jim, up past the Quarry on the short 3 lane overtake stretch up and round the gentle left-hander.CitroJim wrote:Gosh, scary AlasdairMain thing is you're OK.
Did this happen on the road up to Nunney Catch?
The two cars ahead had space inside them to swerve in to miss it, but I had a truck on my insides and one coming down in the single lane so had nowhere to go...so decided to take the hit and control the car rather that try silly swerving and what that may bring. Metal is metal and can be fixed or replaced....a bet I always take by default.
Wish it had been a cheap China pallet....but now, I had to hit a Euro pallet....bloody Europeans coming over here with their strong pallets....

Yes I know I can fit after market and that Sir is a good wheel size page ....thanks.
The plan was always to run the car "as originally made". It was part of the point of getting the car from where I did and it being a car from the first production batch which was un-modified.
Having Two sets or original wheels was going to allow me to use tyres for track use and other ones for road use then compare.....ho-hum, I am beginning to think it is better to get another wheel out of France, normally about 100euro plus shipping rather than try and get it fixed.

Bloody Hell Sticky, thats a bit too close mate. Good job the car and you got clean away.
Don't worry about the wheel, when you get into looking theres a surprising amount that fit to get photoshopping with. I'm sure theres a spare wheel lying around somewhere with your name on it anyhow, can't be as rare as your rear badge. It wasn't one of the wheels you painted so nicely? Hope not.
I don't think you should go near steels with your Activa, they mess up the braking and handling awfully on a 1.9td if your an enthusiastic driver and hubcaps just haven't the same visual qualities..

Yep. it was one of the newly painted and cleaned ones...and they were the best out of the pick of 8 [7]. So a days work to clean up the next best one and paint to mix again
...bummer.
The wheels come up in France quite often.....just need to get around to arranging it as using Leb/coin is a pain as normally they like cash and there is no eBay buyer protection etc.
I may have to arrange via a FCF/C.C.Club member to assist, but no rush

Re: Activa wheel vrs Pallet
You might be on a hiding to nothing re pursuing the lorry driver/owner because I don't think an empty pallet is part of the load (there was a case years ago about a length of 4 x 4 that came off a low-loader) - unless, of course, the wagon was carrying pallets.
Personally, I'd use cheaper allys for trackdays - the last thing you want on such occasions is increased unsprung weight!

Re: Activa wheel vrs Pallet
The other option is Xantia or C5 steels. C5 are lighter which is good for track day stuff and in 15" with correct spacing and pattern as well IIRC.
Also good idea to keep standard, theres a few track day tyre choices in the correct or near correct size which makes life easier.. Toyo and Yoko do them IIRC.
Personally im tying to go the C5 Steel/Alloy route to save weight but finding a breaking willing to sell them instead of weigh them in isnt easy as most C5's only get stripped for a few days before getting squished.
PS sod the hubcaps. Running cleaned and black painted steels or even dark grey painter and heat sealed steels is a good look for a Xantia thats old school anyway
