Right again Richard :) To be fair the owner was up front and got the welding necessary done a couple of MOT's ago.

Davie it would take a better photographer than me to show the reflections properly, you can just about see the I-Spy book reflection! The bit of the dash the book is on looks grey on the photo but is more of a beige in real life.

and yet another good point about the picasso- there's an armrest for the more laid back driver :)

The Xsara Picasso has now been on its maiden voyage as a camping car, and passed with flying colours :)

There is plenty room for 2, and a labrador in the "sleeping compartment", plenty of headroom (heads at tailgate end), and with bubble wrap insulation cut to window shapes, minimum condensation, and the necessary privacy/darkness.

Our previously tested out awning/tent met its match on this occasion though...not exactly the summer breeze of the Isley Brothers, more of a gusting summer gale at the North Yorks/County Durham border. Normally empty all the "stuff" out of the car and store it in the awning, but squashed it all into the front seats area and it was fine.

Camped a few miles out of Barnard Castle, nice place to stop off at, and quite a few points for I-Spy Classic Cars :)

That looks a lovely spot. Always on the lookout for nice potential bike touring destinations...

For the time I actually manage to get round to doing a bit of bike touring

Not a very good picture but this is the Xsara Picasso transformed into a camping car, in North Yorkshire. Yet another river and a castle this time Richmond and the River Swale.

Brings back some memories. Visited Richmond castle among others with our school's "Castle Club" (a great skive every Friday :) ).
53 years ago now and haven't been back. Perhaps I should.
