Never ending C5x7 problems

Unread post by Stickyfinger »

SO....I fixed the fan with a replacement, refitted the bumper etc........so what next ?

Well the rear screen washer has packed up today...Pipe broken from car to tailgate, not the wires but the water, broken right on the entry point so not easy to fix so I will have to strip the trim and replace the whole section. (Good choice, hard (ish) plastic pipe that goes brittle...... Good Job Citroen)
Also, Near side wheel valve has started to leak, transponder type, I noticed it when I washed the car

Tips for removing the tail gate trim ?

I do wonder if I will get thru at least ONE fracking week without something breaking/falling-off this bloody car

I lose track of who runs DocBackup, but if you haven't got it, details for the tailgate trim should be here:

Citroen sell the relevant section of pipe as a separate plug and play item, so no need to delve onto the tailgate fishing pipes through etc.

My rubber pipe repair failed (it split), so I'm doing the same repair as you ... luckily I don't use the rear washer these days, so it can wait a bit

:( Sorry to hear of the continuing foibles sticky.

Still, the current boss of PSA says the way to future survival is to use ever increasing quantities of cheap crap to build their cars - so just imagine how much worse things could be? :-D

it's an X7.....expect the worst :rofl2:
mine potentially will/may need a new front strut or the source of the LDS leak sorting, the paper/plastic/ whatever in the blower heater removing...think lollipop stick and bicycle wheels
Aircon sorting, had a regas last year so i'm bracing myself for condensor/pipes etc
the DPF cleaned out, i'm convinced the Eolys isn't being injected? i may take up SaabC5's idea and dose the tank manually
Alternator sounds a bit 'growly' first thing at tickover or maybe its the AC compressor or the Pulley/tensioner

I honestly reads that that lot back and thought..'Autotrader here we come..'

black flexi pipe has been done on mine as well as the leaky LED 3rd lamp pin connectors sorted...water from washer pipe running through the cracked plastic doesn't help
replaced mine from washer jet, through the spoiler, through the body grommet with standard clear plastic pipe..4mm i think?
just inside the body is the 1 way valve connector, you can just reach if you pull seal away from lining and remove the hanging bracket, the pipe runs down from there and there is enough play to pull out to attach pipe

i do now remember why i probably won't get shut......500 miles on m'way, armchair comfort, 45mpg from a 170 bhp slush box and can still walk after getting out.
plus the fact OH likes the auto electric handbrake...handy when she has use of right arm only :)
currently '06 C5 2.0 HDi auto estate Tip run and France trekker - well should be!! occupied currently by '10 Superb DSG 170 elegance- whistles and bells that work
