Hey, on my Xantia started flashing STOP light with water temperature. But gauge is in normal position. "Physically" is temperature in normal, I checked that. My X1 does not have any type of float for water amount. Even so, the radiator is full. I changed all temperature sensors. But still appears randomly. Flashing or for few seconds still. Is it maybe some problem on PCB of instruments?
Thanks for respond.
If you have air conditioning, and one (or both) of the cooling fans fails to kick in that can cause the error described. On my previous car this would sometimes happen, and turning the A/C on and off a few times cleared it. If this doesn't work you may need to check the fans or the control relays, in the area at the top of the fan assembly.

Yes, I am paranoid, but am I paranoid ENOUGH?

If you've changed all (!) the coolant temperature sensors it's probably the bitron relay under the left hand headlight - try giving the contacts on the connector to the relay a good clean. Quite a common problem.

Thanks for reply, but what you writing I've already done . Changed fan, sensors, relay, cleaned contacts from oxidation, flushed coolant and still it appears
btw i don't have air condition.
Hi,
Our 2000 2.0l HDi 90 Xantia with climate control started giving a similar warning from time to time until it became more consistent.
It is fitted with a low water level indicator and once replaced the warning stopped.
I did test the replacement by connecting and not dropping it into the header tank - when the warning lights came on.
