That last one looks like something is trying to mate with a Prius! Even the campers made by Top Gear looked better than that!

I do believe that it based upon a Cortina, is it called a Sandpiper or similar? I do recall it being basically a kit car from the days when I built my Cobra.

Spot on.....definitely a Cortina, and very probably a Spartan Starcraft Camper.
Built by Spartan Cars, who are better known for their MG TD looking kit cars, it was offered either built or as a kit. The base car was the Ford Cortina which provided the entire front end (although custom bonnet and grills were available) including the engine and gearbox. This was mounted onto an extended custom dual axle chassis for the rear.

I reserve my best skullduggery concealing source refs from the images for the "Whatsthithen? thread.

If you picked out the Marina door-handles you should have no trouble with this rear-end :)

Absolutely right Mike-According to the advert above they also did a kit for the mkIII, has the kit car camper conversion market collapsed now?

If you know your Fords this will be easy. I like a brown car in a so bad its good sort of way :)

One of Germany's finest innovations?

HEKU-Car-Camp

Successful proportions harmonize with a consistently applied aerodynamics, so that no air traffic jam entstehnt and the fuel is low. You drive a normal car and have but a motorhome. By coupling a residential unit to a standard Opel Astra, a recreational vehicle a new dimension created.

Zodiac can't recall the mark though. I used to have the model before (as seen in Z-cars)
