For me it's hot to be an 80's Renault Alpine gta V6 turbo, gorgeous looking thing and very nearly came close to owning one years ago. Something a little newer would be a Nissan skyline R32/33 Gtr. And there'd be an Audi 200 quattro turbo too if I could find one. The only hot Ford on my list would be a 3 door Sierra Cosworth in black, as for the 'hot' mk3 escorts you can keep em all their all over rated junk.

err....a DeLorian without the gull wing doors then :)....I do like them, the smaller rally spec ones were really nice but wildly tail happy in the wet.....only type I have spun on a roundabout :).no damage thank god.

The Escort Cosworth, the proper 4x4 one, is a truly great car.

Another classic auction at Ascot today Saturday 16th May very little expected to be under £10,000 but this two-tone Lamborghini is an exception

Coys are holding a Classic Car Auction at Ascot this Saturday 16th May. Many of the lots will well exceed our £10,000 but I did click on and read a bit more about these two items:-

Is this the article in question?

Talking about Alpine Renaults this particular incarnation (A310) had a nice line in headlights

Yes I'm with you there Sticky. I never liked the modern A610 thing at all. I find it hard to like any French attempt at "supercar" to be honest!

One of the few cars which looks good to me in "brown" according to the reg document, was my Renault 25 Monaco.

Though really, it wasn't brown. It was bronze.

That I thought suited the car very well. ...Not that I really cared what it looked like outside, given how comfortable it was inside!

The Renault 25-who can forget the "John's with me, Ian's with me and we've got the backing" advert? The script was part of a Whatsthisthen? and goes something like this

Joanne......there's something you ought to know....
It concerns the house, the kids, everything really....

...What exactly are you getting at?

Its time to go it alone, I'm starting my own business
John's with me, Ian's with me, and we've got the backing...

....Oh David... That's fantastic!

There's...em...something else...The company car's going to have to go back..

...You're not being a bit..hasty about this are you?

If you watched "For the Love of Cars" on Channel 4 tonight you would have seen the restoration of this SAAB 96

Image

It was part of the Coy's sale at Ascot again on Saturday (no results posted up yet), as the purchaser from the show generously decided to re-auction the vehicle with all proceeds going to charity.

regards Neil

If you like them then a restored example can be had for £8,000 ish. like this. Probably much more economical than buying a tatty cheap one and restoring it yourself!

Very true. If you think the parts for a DS/CX/GS etc of this era are difficult to source, they're easy-peasy compared to the Saab.

Came across this the other day...bit a a departure from SAAB into the world of fibreglass. Not sure if it would pass the crash test with the artificial moose :!:

Came in some nice bright colours though

That's so the mooses could see them and get out of the way.
