They could rust for England though...
There's a four year old Focus ST parks outside mine that is rusted to buggery underneath and on the door bottoms & wheel arches.

I don't understand Fords. Some rust and some don't. None of the Fords I've had had any rust on them at all. The Mondeo we had for 6 years and 130k miles was almost mint when my ex-wife sold it! I think in that time I'd replaced the rear silencer, brake pads and the temp gauge sender unit as well as oil and plugs occasionally. My Orion was 9 years old and rust free when it got nicked, my Focus was 12 years old and rust free..

Perversely my sis-in-laws 03 plate Ka has recently had my brother doing a 2 day welding marathon on it to get it through the MOT...

Pumas and Kas are particularly bad for rust. Shame really as the Puma is a cracking drive actually. Not a really nice car to be a passenger in, but a great drive, especially on a twisty road.

I've had a couple of Pumas. We had one I bought my missus for her birthday for a few years before the nipper came along. Brilliant car. Absolutely loved it. I've been hunting for another good one for ages. Really good on the motorway too give it's aerodynamic shape. Almost silent at 100! I once wound it up to an indicated 135 and it was still quieter than many bigger cars..

Fords do seem variable. It depends on where they were built. My 2006 fiesta has no rust, faded paint though, Shaun old 2003 fiesta which is across the road and re engined has no rust, my son in laws 2003 fiesta was scrapped due to rust in 2011. All the same shape of fiesta. I think the UK market gets some that's built here and some that's built in Germany.

The Alfasud Sprint is one car I've been searching for for years trying to find a decent chrome bumper model, later ones like the one in the photo don't interest me at all, too much plastic tosh spoiling the beautiful original design.

I had a Mk1 Sud Ti in that dark blue, a Sprint in the same colour would be wonderful, I'd more than likely sell my DS if I could find the right Sprint.

No but my right arm doesn't straighten due to scarring from when I got frazzled, will that do? I had two Sud Ti's when they were current so I know what you mean about the footwells and ape like driving position.
