As per ?....I would round off the corners however to prevent any stress fractures forming and the loads to flow

Looking at it I would also like to keep inside the flat area and not extend into the pressed edges.....is that correct for max strength ?

I actually quite like the entire thing cut out! Easy access to all the suspension bits. Make a nice access panel to go over that, plenty of bolts and I bet it wouldn't affect stiffness that much. The Xantia isn't the stiffest car in the world anyway so I doubt it'd be even noticed.

That might do Sticky but do check LHM resistance first.

Get hold of one, drop it into a jar full of LHM and leave it for at least a week to see if anything happens to it such as hardening or softening.

 the plumbing is even worse back there than I had thought. Definitely engineered by someone that had the sub frame in front of them, but not the shell  (or just didn't give a flying ...)

You can get to a fair bit from under if you take off the spheres, this will allow you to avoid stripping down and dropping the frame to get to the ram hoses and the leak off connector mainly....so to me well worth doing
