Re: Tax-exempt classic for under £10K-what would be nice?

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

Well the motorcycle sale is done and dusted and the results are already posted up on the Brightwells website. Unfortunately my £100 wouldn't have bought anything, although the Raleigh Wisp did go for a hammer price of £150.

This AJS Model 14CSR went for £900 hammer price.

This Yamaha XS500 went for £1,400 hammer price

and the little Raleigh Wisp made £150 hammer price

It looks as though there were at least two RR/Bentleys not on the block, an MPW coupé n blue with cream Everflex roof and a bronze Silver Spirit.

Brightwells have a classic car auction on Wednesday this week May 13th.

Amongst other things there is a little bit of French interest with a pair of Peugeot 205 Cabriolets, and a BX and a DS.

If I had a choice though I would probably walk away quite satisfied with this one

Oooooo that would be good. A 205 for fun and an old rover for distance. Already got a pug, albeit broken just now, rover v8? Yes please!

Isn't it funny to see the 205s at "original" ride height? They look so odd compared to the more common chavved-up ones.

Would this be what is known as a chavved up 205? Disregarding the looks that would be a nightmare to drive in Northumberland even on our flatest roads!

Gosh, that's awful Neil   It's managed to destroy the beautiful lines of a 205 and made it almost unrecognisable..

That is a crime.

It could be a genuine T16 which did look pretty chavvy to begin with...
