This Volvo 164 would be parked on my drive now if the guy would move on the price. But seeing as it's over-priced to start with it ain't going to happen. :(

For 1/5th of the asking price Kapaza lists this from Belgium but it does look like it needs a bit of work :)

That doesn't look too bad. The interior on another website gives the impression that it doesn't have overdrive (or original radio) but that's not a problem.

Thanks

Got another car buying site from Europe to amuse myself with now :)

so we have

France-Leboncoin
Belgium-Kapaza!
Germany-Mobile.de

Where are the bargains in Europe for used cars? Probably the UK-I've just bought myself a little runaround for £100, a 52 reg Corsa sri 58,000 miles and not much to fix. When I think back to my first car in 1978, it was an equivalent vintage (for the time) Mini 1000 in tartan red, and paid £380 for it :!:

I do remember from early 80's holiday in Greece, that at the time there were a lot of Lancia Fulvia's and Alfa GT Juniors on the streets of Athens. Maybe Greece has a stock of interesting older vehicles waiting to be discovered.

Found this site which has collected together used car sites from different countries

Second Hand Cars Websites

From the list for Greece this site claims to be the largest market for used cars and spare parts in Greece

www.car.gr

One Alfa gt junior came up for 4,000 euros needing a bit of work and a better colour!

Image

More choice on the Lancia Fulvia's this one is listed at 5,800 euros

The chancers have long since picked every country and continent dry. There are few exceptions! How many of you remember when the South African trove of interesting cars was discovered, post-apartheid? The bargains had before people wised up...

It's not tax free but is a brown rust-free MGB Roadster from Malta at 9,800 euro's tempting?

1960's Drop Top Roadsters as originally compared in this magazine from 1966. Are they available in 2015 for less than £10K?

Image

In September 2003 Classic Motorsports magazine assembled together examles of the cars to recreate the "test"

Image

From left to right we have MGB, Fiat 124, Triumph TR4A, Alfa Romeo Duetto, Sunbeam Alpine, and Datsun 1600.

The results Fiat (1) Alpine (2) Alfa (3) MGB (4) Triumph (5) and Datsun (6)

All highly subjective of course, personally I do like the look of the Alpine.

If you are going to have a TR4A you may as well bust the 10K budget and get one in "Wedgewood Blue" This one's £15K
