Xantia wheel studs

I acquired two wheels with new tyres for my Xantia but when fitting noticed a slight difference where the stud fastens the wheel to the hub.

The original wheels on mine were like this

The new ones are like this

The original studs are 2 inch long


Are these wheels designed to be fastened on with longer studs?

Those are spare wheels from alloy-wheeled cars, and need to be secured with a bolt with a flat shoulder, and a washer. If you want to use them you'll need to get some new bolts....

i agree on the type of Rim Richard although you should be able to use tapered seat bolts as the seats on those rims not anly have a flat face, but also a tapered seat,

you might just require slightly longer bolts

I wouldn't.

Flat faced bolts have a slight taper and a washer, a tapered bolt would shear in there

So, considering the price of new studs, and finding the right ones, would the prudent choice be to just transfer the new tyres onto the original steelies?

£3.50 each from the dealer - there are 2 types listed though, not sure on the difference, or which you need....

If you get a chance, theyre the same bolts that saxo vtr uses by the looks of it. Although i think the different part numbers are down to different lengths

£3 a stud, £24 in total - or a tenner to get the tyres changed over. No argument really.
