I've had a couple of E34 5-Series in the past Mark, as you say, lovely lovely cars when they are in the right spec. My last one was a 535 Estate, and even with over 200k on it it drove absolutely spot on. Not a single rattle or noise, or piece that had fallen off. I'd have kept it if I could have ever persuaded it to do more than about 18mpg..

Im quite SAD about the whole Saga. It was an SE spec Manualcar on an E plate so one of the last so it had Cruise control... only fitted to the last year or so on SE. Three spoke sports steering wheel, conputer, headlight wipers, so on so on. NEVER got the damm girl going .. When I learnt of my lost storage, I did a strip down... Cylinder head which came off a running 728i, so was good, wheels, steering wheel, speedo clocks, ABS block, 4x leccie window winders, headlights, switchs trip computer unit etc etc.. Currently all stashed in my shed at mums house, and always said I WILL get another one! How little did I know how quick their value will rise soooo damm quickly..

I still look at E28s... would still love one!

Nothing major on my berlingo really, just a service and sort out the very annoying airbox/feed pipe rattle.

Need to get a headlight, then VIC and MOT the c5 and definitely fix the heaters on it if I'm gonna keep it, not decided yet, or sell it on to make a profit to offset the loss of my NCB and find something else to run, as a priority due to £60 of fuel into my temporary escort just doing less than 200 miles. At that level of fuel usage I might as well have something I could enjoy driving like a 328 or 535 or xm v6!

C5 MK1 to drive around in while you decide. Much cheapness. Has heat :) It'd get you home from here on £60 I bet..

The only c5 Im gonna have is my own one Mike. I have my eye on a project that is a runner for even mucher cheapness while I decide and I would keep the one I'm eyeing up. I am in talks with the seller right now via email, moving on to phone tomorrow. It is french, it will do 60mpg, it is a lot closer. If this works then I probably do the necessary to keep my own one.

I hope it all works out for you. I'm supposed to be collecting the BMW on Sunday. Then I'll have 4 cars, two spaces, and no money at all!

Where do I start? ...
C3 'la petit citron' clutch pedal goes to the floor with nothing hapening - have to pull apart to see what is no longer connecting
DS BVH suspect fuel pump not supplying fuel at sufficient pressure - fit an electric, low pressure, fuel pump
D Super 5 needs radiator hoses replaced plus replace water pump which has a small amount of 'slop' present in the shaft
CX Familiale needs the steering (pull to left) sorted so that I can have it inspected and registered
CX Pallas needs similar attention to steering and a few rusty spots, under the trim, on the rails below the doors, rectified.

As I've been fully engaged with an addition to the local museum - I'm one of the few members with a pulse - and then have additions to the local machinery restoration group shed coming up I can't see me getting to them in the short term. If I was getting paid for the building I'd be able to pay someone to sort the cars :-)

The Vel Satis. Got to say, this is streets ahead of the usual with build and mechanicals. So, apart from a sticky passenger window to sort........nothing.
That's right folks. A French V6 ( jap mechanicals) at coming on 12 years old and needs nothing. It has had major service items to keep good. I am not under it constantly fixing up and down suspension or owt else. No daft turbos, clutches, DPF's DMF'S urea fluid, emission problems, egr problems
This is why she is still here. Lovely big thing 8-)

For my Activa V6 to be complete she needs a full respray to put it back to showroom condition. Those who know the car (Mandrake, BW, Lexi saw it briefly a few weeks ago, and probably a few others) know how picky I'm being saying that it needs a respray as she's in great condition, I'm just being incredibly finicky as there's marks on it that I can see that nobody else can :lol

This was only taken about a month ago to prove the point:

Image

On one of the wheels just beside the valve there's a tiny amount of bubbling appearing so I'd like to get them done as well. Once these two items have been done my Activa will be a showroom condition car both mechanically and cosmetically :)

Other then that, the XM needs nothing, just a good run to the one of the rallies in the summer! The Activa is doing the Northern though, get it up into the Yorkshire Moors on the way home :D
