c5 exclusive headlights self levelling

Post by scottspark »

Hi can self levelling headlights be adjusted by the plastic screws on the headlights. The beam is very very low. If they can be adjusted will this have any affect on the self levelling motor.

Maybe one of the height sensors is off, or damaged (there should be one on each wheel's suspension rod, somewhere) ... Lexia session maybe to check for any errors regarding wrong readouts? ...

Yes they can be adjusted and it will not affect the self levelling but you will need to have it on level ground when you adjust them. I did mine on my C8 and also my dads on his C5.

Do they move up and down when you start the car in the dark with the lights on auto or turn the lights on?

Check the height sensor on rear axle. It´s rusty if you haven´t lubricated it, and I think that affects the lights too.

Something like this in the middle of the rear axle:

It´s easy to access when you lift the car up, but remember to use some support so you won´t get squashed in case the rear falls down!
