So my dad's getting a 1993 petrol ax in white. For his birthday! Think it's 1.2l, she's done 180,000kms.
The check engine light is on apparently, so if I buy a Lexia now that we have 2 Citroens in the family, will I need a particular adaptor?
Besides the normal service stuff is there anything to check?
It nearly didn't happen cos the paperwork made my dad cross. You have to have townhall certified copies of things and then go with the seller to a solicitor. Madness!
Looking forward to a race with Fred. Smirk!

Re: New ax
Same story for 1993 AX.

The information available from many of the earlier ECUs is limited. I'm not sure if the lexia will do much for you. Perhaps someone who has actually used one on an early 1990s model can fill us in on that.

Re: New ax
The main trouble I had with mine was a worn TPS on the throttle body, it was otherwise fine, my favourite part was the wine bottle holders in the doors, but try to avoid having an accident as they have a low occupant survival rate!
It infuriates me to be wrong when I know I'm right

Re: New ax
1.2? Should be 1.1 or 1.4. The engine light is quite likely triggered by the throttle valve potentiometer. Which can be taken apart and cleaned.

Re: New ax
She has been named "Gwin".
Yes you're right she is 1.1l. Goes up the hill better than my Fred. Sigh.
Would the TPS or TVP affect a slight occasional stutter? It's not noticeable as a passenger. The engine management light went off after a battery reset, but has come on again.
Will try not to have any crashes!

Re: New ax
Stuttering is a sure fire sign of TPS/TVP wear.
