2009 C5 suspension pump failure

Hello,

I have a 2009 C5 Exclusive. It recently had the 'suspension fault' warning. The dealer tells me it's blowing the fuse for the pump although the wiring is okay. So it needs a new pump. This is £1200 fitted.

Has anyone any other sources or suggestions for pumps? Are the refurbished ones any good or how about ebay or a breakers?

Take it he means the 40 amp maxi fuse under the engine compartment fuse box?
£1200 fitted?? Can't see it. Even with a new pump that seems OTT.
It has been done before of course. There is a lot of too-ing and Fro-ing on the thread but the bottom line is, a forum member has done it. See here:-

Might be worth asking the dealer to check on recalls, prior to purchasing my present one it apparently had a new pump fitted due to a recall.
