Oh dear :( That does not make good reading Neil. I wonder if a petrol conversion is viable? I believe the H used the DS/ID engine...

Jim, Atlantic Motorhomes do a "Ford Transplant" into Citroen H Vans

Its not the V4 you'll be pleased to know!

at least one satisied customer
A delighted customer, Gemma of GemBurrito, emailed about her vans recent Ford Engine transplant :

"Oh my god, my van is now so good, I just love it. I've had a proper drive around today and I'm just so chuffed with it. It's absolutely amazing. I'm all packed up and ready for work tomorrow, for the first time I am actually looking forward to driving it. It's just a hundred times what I was expecting. The van is truly wonderful to drive, I can't explain properly how it's made me feel. It's just so much fun and hardly uses any petrol. I've several jealous friends. Honestly this has just changed the day to day job so much, I can't thank you enough ".

They also do exchange reconditioned original engines.

Guys, I really appreciate everything you've given me here. A lot to digest. I'm going to have to double check the year of the van now as I'm just going on what dear mother in law has said.

I've kinda spread myself over three threads here so I apologise for that, and for the intrusion! I'll pop over and take a load of pics for you eager chaps tomorrow and we shall go from there!

He he don't worry about that :-D We're basically a bunch of slightly odd balls who like nothing better than talking about really esoteric car problems, or looking at pictures of rusty things that might once have been parts of cars :) Beats actually going outside and getting dirty and cold! Just an update on this:-

Yes, and in spite of the title of the thread, I think Big Chief I-Spy would be quite flexible with respect to points awarding, should the odd Estafette or Peugeot D3 D4 J7 or J9 try to sneak in :)
Well the Blue Estafette has now turned into this and makes a regular appearance at the Edinburgh Farmers Market-Castle Terrace selling creme brulees at £3 a pop!

I must admit that grey wouldn't be the first colour I would consider if I was renovating a nice old van, but it does look classy , nice bit of two-toneage that i always like, and fits in with the type of product they are selling.

Hats of again to another of now quite a long line of independant people giving it a go, and providing something interesting and different. Dont think I have ever had a creme brulee! I quite like their USP "We Serve Creme Brulees Burnt to Order"...good job I have seen a few episodes of Masterchef otherwise I would have thought they were mad.

Lets hope there is not too much bandwagon jumping on like this though:-

I will update more recent pics shortly, showing what a year and a half under a tree on a farm does to one of these vans!
