It will be an interesting watch to see what it fetches. It would save the buyer quite a bit of effort and expense of sourcing one from France, and whatever state they are in they seem to be fetching good prices, and you would have to do the restoration job of body and mechanicals regardless unless you paid top dollar for one that had already been done. No bids yet starting bid £4,000.

Malcolm,

There's no doubt about it your le Mans trip has taken you well over the 1000 points mark. In the past I think Big Chief I-Spy would dish out certificates of merit to spotters who managed to get 1000/1250 points, and a feather for their headdress. In understated congratulation the certificate would be completed by Big Chief I-Spy

Image

As you can see in this instance the faithful spotter was only awarded the honourable rank of "Archaeologist 2nd class". You only got !st Class if you completed the entire book and scored 100% of all the points available in the book.

Times have moved on though Malcolm, and I presume a feather and an Order of Merit Certificate awarding you the rank of "second class H Van Spotter" aren't going to hit the spot.

So, do yo think you could manage these?

Cracking set of pictures there fella! Although, my years of moving cars on and off of garage forecourts would Never allow me to not want to 'Straighten' All the cars up and have them in a perfect line! :-D Especially the Xantia's, One silver one parked Half way in the Area and the other driven in nose first! hahah!
i'd be like a child in a sweetshop with the camera at events like that!! i had heard there were quite a lot of Bx 'Soupapes' there, always good to here, Maybe the ideal for me would be a Concourse 'Soupapes' on the back of a trailer behind a H-Van!! ;-) :-D

According to Wikipedia (translated), a soupape is a valve or valve body.

I think if BSA had made it it would have had a more awe inspiring name name like Thunderbolt, Rocket, Lightning, Spitfire, Cyclone, Barracuda....."Soupapes" is never going to frighten anyone :)

But if you look at the reg., it translates (effectively) as 16V, which it is.

Soupape is a valve. It had 16 of them, so it's 16 Soupapes.

It's a lot less bizarre name than a Mazda Bongo Friendee

or the Toyota Enima! Previa over here, but not on the imports!
yes, tthe 16Valve as called here was called the same but in French BX Soupapes, fiding the badges is Very rare, a couple of our members (bx16valve.co.uk) tried to get some a few years back for the Original look!
Funny how things become mainstream, if you ask a teenager early 20's they wouldnt know cars didnt have 16valve now, where as the 16valvers in the late 80/90's were the Rare cars! golf, peugeot, Clio/R19 etc.

I don't know if this counts (probably not), but in the first 15 minutes of 'X-Men: First Class' there is an early DS and an H Van.
