Not sure about the mileage (I haven't ever had an LPG vehicle), but have you seen the cost? It is about half the cost of petrol.

They get a little less mpg. I used to get about 15% less mpg on LPG in my Jeep Cherokee than I did on petrol. Still well worth it though. It was cheaper to run than, in a weird coindicndence with the OP, our petrol 1.8 Xantia we had at the same time.

My XM 2.0 TCT went as low as 15 mpg on LPG. I sold it and bought my 2.1 SED XM. Runs on veg/bio mix. New veg oil is currently under £14 for 20 ltrs at the wholesalers. It's not as fast but I don't have to keep the spare wheel in the boot - the tank was under slung. I would rather like a 3.0 XM with LPG tho.

Find a better insurer. Most of them don't care as long as you've got the installation certificate.

I run a Xantia 3.0 V6 auto on LPG, the car runs exceptionally well, I am currently in the process of having a Peugeot 407 converted, the Xantia on petrol gives me a return of about 25 mpg, here as the gas equates to 47.8 mpg if you equate pound for pound.

I have a 90 litre tank in the boot, and you have to allow a percentage of space for gas expansion, I can get about 75 litres in mine. I allow the car to do about 300 miles between top ups, but I have had upwards of 350 miles out of a tank.

Insurance wise, I have no problem with insurance, I use a company called Chris Knott and they have been fine.

I phoned back the insurance. It wasnt one there computer. I didnt say anything this time. About it being lpg. So i can insure the car. If its all one the v5. Would the car be classed as standard. So that if i did make a clam. I would still be covered. Last time i told them it was lpg they said no. This time i didnt and i could go with it.
