Xantia AC expansion valve location

Expansion valve? Is there another name for it? I cant think of any air con stuff except the connection to the evaporator inside the car in that area...

Neil, you might want to check your avatar. There was an issue that happened when a server change occurred in that some avatars got lost (as well as ROFL2!).

Expansion valve, TX valve, it's the rectangular block that contains the valve which regulates pressure in the evaporator onto which it's mounted.

A quick explanation of its function can be replicated by exhaling with a wide open mouth = warms air, now pucker your lips to a small hole and then exhale = cold air

I thought mine might have a problem, took it to kwikfit for a check up, the compressor was kicking just not at all cold. They told me it was leaking from somewhere, no signs anywhere, I took it to Brit tyres in Hull, no leaks found, did a full service on it including the a/c bomb inside the car.. £50, all operating normally now

That reminds me of a Chinese fable where on a winter's night a traveller takes refuge in I think a giant's home. He blows on his hands to warm them up then blows on a bowl of soup to cool it down. Being scared by this guest being able to breath hot and cold, the giant believes him to be a demon and kicks him out.
