That's a shame Mark :( Did the promise of a new kitchen/bathroom/week in Benidorm/new hairdo/meal out at KFC not do the trick then?

I have a lady friend with 100 real, full-size, mostly running, American cars. She has unmarried sisters, some of whom also have quite a few cars.

Sadly she isn't "that" sort of friend (shame, I know) but it does prove there are women who love odd cars! My OH is banned from driving in Oz, for life, due to repeated naughtiness behind the wheel.

Buy something utterly revolting, unreliable and charmless. And tell her how you love it.

Buy something utterly boring and reliable then she'll soon get sick of you being bored and not outside and tinkering

Hyundai Atoz or i10. They're the staple motor used by cabbies here in Bogota. My bro-in-law is a cabbie. Usually two will share a cab, 12 hour shifts each so these things are in use 24 hours a day on some of the worse roads you've ever seen. Oh, and they get thrashed, mercilessly.

Theirs has done 160,000km in just over a year and has needed nothing other than normal servicing and a set of front dampers. I'll take some pictures of the holes in the road and you'll see why it needed dampers (note:holes, not potholes)

He is. Mine will be happy now though as I have lost all interest and decided to spend my money on travelling again, not cars.
