Alfa Romeo Gtv V6

Post by bxzx16v »

I've got the chance of a V6 Alfa Gtv, a very good price with the nice momo leather, I've just got to break it to swmbo. It seems a shame to the garage sat empty now the Zx had gone and I've always wanted a V6 engined alfaa

Ohh :P 8-) I approve :-D A very good choice...

The engines in those sound like an orchestra of angels :P

Go on Mark, get it. It might be even more unreliable and badly built than an old Citroen but great fun..

And it has soul :-D

Better off with a 2.2 diesel C5 - it'll be less problematic.

The 147 or 156 GTA is worth having, but earlier cars I seriously wouldn't touch...

Well the wife's just sold her fiat 500 Malcolm so I guess having another Italian might work? Jim I'm SO tempted at the price I can get it for, it's a mechanic at work who needs some cash for his wedding. Addo are they really that bad? Anyway it's a 1999 3.0 24valve lusso with sensible miles and the seller will put a year's Mot on it for £1000, I'm going to look at it tomorrow so I'll keep you posted.

I've been to have a look at the Alfa this afternoon and it is a very straight car, it's been stood a while and requires new discs and a repair on the exhaust but the owner says he will sort these. Other than needing a thorough wash I think it will make a good one, watch this space.

I'll see what I can do Jim, it's got a very nice black leather interior and the exterior is silver but with a tinge of green due to it being stood. It definitely wants a full set of discs and pads, I'm going back on Wednesday to fire it up, I can't wait.

I think you will have it Mark. I can feel it coming  Your not a real petrol head until you have owned an Alfa. And a v6 GTV sounds just the job for a bit of weekend fun.

I wasn't really planning on another car this soon after the Zx but for the price it's too good to miss. It will take something special after the Zx.

I think its as good as mine, it will definitely require the brakes discs/pads sorting for the MoT which the seller said he would do and there's a blow on the front pipe apparently, all will be revealed tomorrow when it gets fired up. Its also had a full timing kit fitted not that long ago, Wednesday morning can't come around quick enough.
