Fusebox Xantia 1996

Need to change a fuse on my Xantia, the fusebox is located beneath steeriing coloumn and has a red lever.
I have tried pulling on the red lever but nothing gets released. Can anyone confirm the red lever
should open the fusebox ? I don't want to force it.

The red lever is the bonnet release....

The fuse box is to the right of the steering column, there's a turn buckle just above knee height that releases it.

Thanks for that, I use the bonnet release regularly but did not know it was red !

I will find the turn buckle and let you know.

Found it ! how could I miss it. difficult to read though..
