Lexia Key Coding

Post by jgra1 »

chaps, about to take the plunge and try and code a key to my C5..

can someone point to a post that describes this, or even just tell me where to start within Lexia? I am guessing coding is not within diagnostic menu?

thanks

there's a separate process for the RCL, which lexia does give you information at the same time for pairing.

I don't know if this will work, but it is worth a try. On an S2 Xantia what you do is to pop the new key in the ignition, turn on the ignition, and then press a remote button. That should then sync the remote function to the car.

Only if you have RF equipment on the right frequency. Are you sure the battery is good? Just because the key is new doesn't mean the battery is. It could be 'old new' stock, whereby the key had been sitting on the shelf for a few years. According to Wikipedia the keys operate on 433.92 MHz.

On the BSI parameters there should be a line something like "presence of RF signal" from memory.

thanks addo..

James
tried a new battery but nothing,,

a minor update.. haven't been near the key for a week or two.. but spoke to IT guy here, and he produced his Digital £40 HAM radio.. we typed in 433.925 ? I think,.. and sure enough, on a press of any of the 3 buttons, there was a noticeable 'crack' in the signal.... I cant be sure that it's emmiting the right signal, but it's certainly doing something..

Will go back to Lex later and have a look around.. but is it possible to turn on / off RCL with it? could someone have disabled it , in the past

Thanks
John

The fact that the ham radio gets a response suggests the keyfob is working. I wonder if the in-car receiver is?
