MoT today

Unread post by Stickyfinger »

and just clicked past 160K.....................

Fail, CV gaiter................turned out to be mud !
Fail, Side Lights..............one blub blown...the bugger was working on Sunday
Fail, ABS wires "not in clip".......all I can say is to rude to post without a life bad....

Smoke @ 0.45 average....my cat and DPF work then :)
New serpentine belt fitted.....WHAT a mess, I was lucky !
Oil New in ; Engine, GearBox, Steering rack.
Rear Brakes...........ZERO corrosion...well there is a first for everything !"

All in all I would call that a result

I think the point is that being insecure, something could snag them and rip them out thus rendering your ABS useless. I think it's a fair enough one to fail on.

Probably the latter. Strict testers are a good thing. Jobsworth ones are not.

................. he took more time identifying a smear of wet mud as a split and leaking gaiter than moving a loose wire 4cm into a clip :)

Mine took me under the ramp and said "it's just scraping a pass so far because some of these pipes are furry and I had to try for ages to get the emissions down, but <taps rotten pipe> I really can't pass that I'm afraid. <taps rust on subframe> See, that's rusty but it's all there and it's solid. That pipe is not. Helpful explanation, honest, not a jobsworth. I know a few who'd have failed it on some of the other pipes that are sound.

Sounds like we like testers too, to be reasonable and helpful like the whole world.
