Lidl are offering their winter screenwash from Thursday 24th. Got some last year, used undiluted its good for -60C, so its much better stuff than the usual supermarket -5 version. You can dilute 25/75 and still be in good shape for most winters. Now that lots of cars have their screenwash bottle and pump tucked up under the wing rather than in the engine compartment where they get warmed up its worth doing things properly.

Well, Lidl are doing some car bits next Monday (25/11). Any bets as to how long the snow chains take to sell out?

EDIT, I was in Lidl today (29/11), and it seems that people have forgotten about the existence of snow. Plenty of snow chains available. Still, wait until the first snow, and see how many people wish they had got them!

Lidl near here have got their car mats in stock again. I've used them for a long time, they are very good.

Mildly tempted by the torque wrench.

I got mine from Lidl over 10 years ago, and it cost me £8. It doesn't have the sockets, but it did come with the extension bar and adaptor. My Mum was less than impressed, as she had bought a Draper torque wrench for around £40, she got just the wrench and case, and it appeared identical to mine.

I never seem to be able to get to Lidl when these deals are on. I'm working on Thursday. Trolley jack and torque wrench would be useful

If push came to shove I could get them for you, Mike. Your nearest Lidl is probably the one at the Woodley precinct. The stores are normally open until 20:00. It is rare for items to sell out on the same day (snow chains in snowy weather being an exception; selling out within 3 hours!). However, these bits go on sale next Monday (24/3).

I bought my son a torque wrench last year - wrench only, £70.
I have plenty of sockets but a few more don't go amiss.
I would likely only use it for wheel nuts to avoid over tightening. Anything more refined and I'd use the Teng wrench or farm it out.
Not sure where my nearest Lidl is, the one three miles away closed for a complete rebuild a while back.
