Noisey Tyres

Unread post by martscar »

Just replaced my 2 front tyres with a pair of Dunlop Blueresponse. I found them really noisy to the point that I have now swapped them for the slightly worn back tyres with a different tread pattern. At first I could not understand what had happened so went down the pit and checked the underside out to see if I had lost a panel, thats how pronounced it is. Anybody know of a good quiet tyre please

Just fitted a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's to the Clio. Apart from being possibly the best tyre I've used, the ride is smoother and they're a lot quieter than the Pilot Exaltos that they replaced :)

There must be a guide somewhere, I have had a look round but there doesn't seem to be anything apart from the manufacturers blurb

I've always been impressed with the quietness of Dunlop tyres, I did use some SP2000 Dunlops one one car which I would class as a budget tyre, but other models have been good.

Your Blueresponse tyres get one of the lowest measures of speed for any current tyre. 68dB it is rated at and for grip and efficiency, they are also very good. If the reviews are to be believed:

Maybe they will be better once they have scrubbed in a little.

Was checking out the price of tyres recently and it would seem they are all now rated for noise level as well as speed etc. Probably about as accurate as fuel consumption figures but it's somewhere to start.
