Swapped fuel pump from the HDi 90 engine to mine, which I KNOW doesnt cut out, my car now starts better, but she STILL cuts out. Gonna try fuel tank pump tomorrow or thursday...

Remove a leak off pipe and switch on ignition, you should get fuel as it primes the system...

How do you know there's good pressure there?

I'd be tempted to take the main fuel line off in the engine bay before it goes to the pump and switch the ignition on, see if it gives you anything. Obviously put the end in some sort of container to catch it. I'm not sure where it is on the Xantia, but it's on the top drivers side rear of the engine near the rocker cover on the Berlingo, this is where the AA man disconnected it to suck the petrol through when I misfuelled it. I'd imagine disconnecting it and switching the ignition on should result in fuel flow, if the pump is good.

My brother had a problem with the in-tank pump in his C5. A smack with a hammer temporarily sorted it.
